Tesco growth slowing

It could be said that competitors have stronger growth rates purely because they lag so far behind, and hence there is more opportunity for growth.

Furthermore, Tesco has an almighty presence on the high street, even compared to Sainsburys; Morrisons is absent. Tesco's diversification is further confirmed not only by it's international expansion but also by it's online presence allowing it to compete with the online only DVD retailers as well as general homewares retailers such as Argos.

Thanks to these factors, I think it is safe to say, in spite of the cautious consumer outlook, Tesco is well weathered to shrug of any further consumer setbacks.
